There were some, but now they seem to lead you into signing up for some service plan instead.

If you are seeing unknown numbers in your messages and want to know if they’re from telemarketers, etc, there’s a site for that

Try the reverse phone feature of whitepages.com. It is free. If it is not found there, try the reverse phone at peoplesearch.com. You may have to pay a small fee but it is worth it.

Free websites are here and there but if you are looking for a name from a cell phone or unlisted number you need to use a paid serive, but they are usually pretty cheap.

Well, there a quite a few and what they do is cross reference the phone number you are looking for in relation to the national and local telephone directories. This can be kinda hard sometimes if you are looking for something that is unlisted or a corporate number or something. Other times you will only have to pay a small fee (1-15 dollars) to get a really detailed report.
